Analytics overview
The Analytics overview answers one question: where is my money going month to month, and what is the next few months likely to look like? It combines a spending forecast, a monthly income and expense trend, a day-by-day calendar of spending and a list of the repeating payments found in your data.
What it shows
| Panel | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Historical avg / mo | Average monthly spending over the recent history used for the forecast |
| Next month forecast | Projected spending for the month after your most recent data |
| Recurring detected | How many repeating payment patterns were found |
| Recurring / mo | The combined average amount of those repeating patterns |
| Income vs expense trend | A line per month: income in green, expense in red, for the selected period |
| Spending forecast | A bar per forecast month, with the forecasting model named beside the title |
| Monthly transaction calendar | One cell per day of a chosen month; each day with spending shows a small pie split by category |
| Recurring spending patterns | A table of detected repeats: merchant, cadence, average amount and number of occurrences |
Features
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Shared period filter | One date control at the top of Analytics drives this screen and the other Analytics tabs |
| Spending forecast | Projects the next three months from a straight-line trend through your recent monthly spending |
| Recurring detection | Groups transactions by recognised merchant and flags those arriving on a roughly weekly or monthly rhythm |
| Calendar month/year chooser | Jump to any month covered by your data; it opens on the most recent month present |
| Category colours | Calendar pies use each category's own colour, so heavy categories are recognisable at a glance |
| Chart export | Hover any chart to download it as PNG or PDF; the PDF includes the figures behind the chart |
| Table tools | The recurring table has search, a column chooser and CSV / Excel / PDF export |
How to use it
- Set the period at the top of the page. The default is the year up to your most recent statement.
- Read the four headline figures for the shape of your spending: typical month, next month, and how much of it is committed to repeating payments.
- Use Income vs expense trend to see which months ran at a deficit — the red line above the green one.
- Open the Monthly transaction calendar and pick a month to see which individual days carried the spending, and on what.
- Scan Recurring spending patterns for subscriptions and standing payments you no longer want.
Notes and limits
- The period filter. Presets are: last year up to your latest statement (the default), last year to today, last six months, last three months, this month, and a custom from/to pair. The window is inclusive and is matched on each transaction's posted date. The default preset is anchored to your most recent statement rather than today's date, so uploading historical statements still shows a full year of data. The chosen period is shared across the Analytics tabs — switching tabs keeps it.
- Two panels ignore the period filter. The forecast headline figures and chart, and the recurring patterns table, are computed from your data as a whole rather than from the selected window. The forecast uses roughly the last twelve months up to your most recent transaction; the recurring table scans all your transactions.
- The forecast is a straight-line trend, not a model of your commitments or plans. With little history it reports that there is not enough history rather than guessing.
- Trend and calendar cover different things. The trend shows both income and expense. The calendar shows spending only — money leaving the account.
- Recurring detection needs at least three occurrences of the same merchant at a steady interval. One-off or irregular payments will not appear, and a merchant that appears under several very different descriptions may be counted separately.
- Amounts are totalled as recorded. If your accounts hold more than one currency these panels do not separate or convert them.
- With no transactions in the selected period, charts and tables show an empty state rather than zeros.
Every plan includes this screen; plans differ only by the monthly page allowance — see Plans & limits.
