Settings

Settings is where you control how the app behaves for you: who you are signed in as, how figures and dates are displayed, where your uploaded files are kept, and which conditions you want alert rules for. It is also where you export or delete your data.

What it shows

Settings has two tabs.

Account settings shows the email address you are signed in with and your current plan, then a form of preferences:

FieldWhat it controls
Display nameThe name shown for your account.
Preferred currencyThe currency figures are presented in across the app.
LocaleThe language and regional formatting used for the interface.
CountryYour country.
ThemeLight, Dark, or System (follow your device).
Data residency regionYour default region choice for stored data.
Storage countryThe country your uploaded files are stored in.

Below the form are two further blocks:

  • Security — your password is managed by the identity provider, so the app links out to the provider's own account console to change it.
  • Danger zone — export all of your data, or permanently delete your account.

Alert rules lists the rules you have defined, with their name, type, threshold and channels, and lets you add, edit and remove them.

Alert rule fields

A rule is made up of four things:

FieldMeaning
NameYour label for the rule.
TypeWhat the rule is about — see the list below.
ThresholdAn amount, plus the currency it is expressed in.
ChannelsA comma-separated list of delivery channels, for example EMAIL,IN_APP.

The available rule types are: spending limit, budget warning, low balance, fraud detected, unusual activity, large transaction, duplicate transaction, recurring price change, statement processed, statement failed, and quota near limit.

How to use it

  1. Open Settings.
  2. On the Account settings tab, edit the fields you want to change.
  3. Select Save changes. The preferred currency is applied across the app immediately.
  4. To change your password, select Change password — this opens your identity provider's account console.
  5. To manage alerts, switch to the Alert rules tab, select New rule, give it a name, pick a type, set the threshold amount and currency, adjust the channels, and save.
  6. Edit or remove an existing rule using the actions at the end of its row.

Notes and limits

  • The storage country is a data-residency choice. See Data residency for which countries are available and what the choice means.
  • The export is a JSON file covering your profile, bank accounts, transactions, categories, statement metadata, investments, alerts and alert rules. It contains statement metadata — the original uploaded documents are not part of the bundle.
  • Deleting your account is permanent. It removes your account and all associated data, and you are signed out immediately afterwards. There is no undo.
  • Alert rules are personal. Rules you create belong to your own account, not to everyone using the same organisation.
  • A rule records a condition, not a schedule. You set the type, threshold and channels here; there is no separate alerts inbox screen in the app today.
  • Your plan is shown here for reference only. To change it, use Billing; allowances are listed under Plans & limits.
