What a download contains
- Your current filters decide the rows. A download contains every transaction matching the date range, account, category and merchant you have selected — not just the page on screen.
- Accounting formats drop balance lines. Opening and closing balance rows are removed from OFX, QBO, QFX, QIF, IIF, MT940, CAMT.053 and Tally files, so they never post as transactions. Excel, CSV, JSON and text keep them, flagged.
- Category names are included in Excel and CSV; JSON carries the full record.
- Each row carries its BankStmt reference. Your bank's own reference number is never included in a file meant for another system.
- Every export is recorded in the audit trail.
Where to export from
- Transactions — the Export button downloads Excel; its menu offers every other format.
- Business summary — exports the period report.
- Team → Assignments — the handover pack, as PDF or Excel (see For accounting firms).
- Settings → Export my data — a single file with your profile, accounts, transactions, categories, statement details, investments and alert rules.
- The API — the same formats over
/api/v1on Professional and Business (see Integrations, open banking & API).
Prefer not to move files at all? Connectors push transactions directly into accounting software and spreadsheets — see Integrations, open banking & API.
